Rome – This year, Unioncamere Piemonte summarized in a single internationalization index the many elements that measure the level of internationalization of the Piedmont region. The goal was to verify the evolution of said criteria over time and hold a sound comparison with other territorial references. The overall increase is the result of the excellent performance exhibited by the economic internationalization index, which increased by 5%, and by the more modest growth of the social component (+1%). Analyzing the individual components of the internationalization index, it emerges that the main contribution comes from the increased capacity to attract foreign direct investment: this element rose by 6 percentage points over the previous year; while the propensity to international trade was confirmed positive (+ 2%), thanks to exports of both goods and services. In terms of foreign labor, the 2014 results showed a 1% increase. (9Colonne)
