( December 31, 2015 ) It is expiring on Sunday, January 10 at Hallwylska Museet in Stockholm , the exhibition ” Mariano Fortuny : fashion designer and artist genius ” organized in collaboration with the Fortuny Museum in Venice, the Traje museum of Madrid , the Italian Embassy in Stockholm , the Italian Cultural Institute and the Royal Embassy of Spain. Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871-1949), a Spanish painter and designer with Italian passport, is considered one of the most brilliant innovators of fashion and design of the early twentieth century. First known for the so-called shawl ” Knossos ” in 1906 , then he joined the world appreciation thanks to the dress pleated ” Delphi ” in 1907. This dress soon became an exclusive evening gown worn by the shining stars of the thime, as Sarah Bernhardt and Isadora Duncan . ( Sip )
