(13 January, 2016) On January 15, the Quartetto di Cremona (Cristiano Gualco – violin, Paolo Andreoli – violin, Simone Gramaglia – viola, John Scaglione, cello) brings new music to Cologne. At 7pm, the halls of the Italian Cultural Institute will fill with music composed by Mozart, Webern and Beethoven. The Cremona Quartet was founded in 2000 at the Accademia Stauffer, affirming itself as one of the most interesting ensembles on the international scene. Since 2011, the Academy is “artist in residence” at the Quartet Society of Milan for a project that culminated in 2014 with the execution of all of Beethoven’s music for quartets. The international press considers the Cremona Quartet the spiritual heir of the Italian Quartet, highlighting its artistic and interpretative qualities. Broadcasters from around the world regularly air their concerts, also because their rich discography with Decca and Audite has emerged as one of the most interesting at the global level. (Red)
