Valletta – Yesterday came to an end the two-day visit to Malta by the Secretary to the Prime Minister Sandro Gozi. Gozi held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs Grech, with Foreign Minister Vella, Interior Minister Abela, and Transportation Minister Mizzi. During the meetings, the parties assessed positively cooperation levels between Italy and Malta in European platforms, especially with regard to issues concerning the Mediterranean and migration. Ample time was also devoted to the preparation of the Maltese Presidency of the European Union, scheduled for the first half of 2017, as well as some joint initiatives to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. Gozi also attended a conference on the future of Europe organized by MEUSAC, and was able to visit one of the cross-border cooperation projects between Sicily and Malta, aimed at promoting the use of electric cars in the port areas of Malta, Catania and Gela.
