(25 January 2016) “MosaiCONtempo – From the Ravenna mosaics to the present” is an international conference dedicated to the history and restoration of mosaic works scheduled in Prague on February 12, in the Baroque chapel of the Italian Cultural Institute. The meetings will see the participation of eminent specialists from Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic. The conference is organized by Art & Craft Mozaika under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in Prague, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts of the Czech capital. The Italian Cultural Institute also open the exhibition “The Ancient mosaics of Ravenna” with a section dedicated to the mosaics today. Similarly, the “Opus Musivum: the mosaics in figurative art” project features an exhibition at the Central Bohemia Museum in Roztoky, and documents the development of the Czech mosaic tradition in the context of European production.
