(8 February 2016) Paolo Di Paolo presents the Albanian version of his novel “Mandami tanta vita” on February 17 at 6pm at the Italian Cultural Institute Library in Tirana and on the following day in Vlora, at the Aula Magna of Reald University (at 11.30am). The event is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana in collaboration with the Consulate General of Vlora and Dudaj Publishing House. “Mandami tanta vita” (published in Italy by Feltrinelli) is set in Fascist Italy during the 1920s, narrating the story of Piero, a promising anti-fascist intellectual forced to leave Italy, his wife and his son, and that of Morlando, a young college student who on a trip to Turin for an exam session accidentally exchanged his suitcase with that of a photographer. The destinies of the two are intertwined, since both, for different reasons, will travel to Paris and will face radically different fates. Paying his tribute to one of the most prominent anti-Fascist figures in Italy, Piero Gobetti, Paolo Di Paolo wrote a touching novel on the charm, the fatigue, and the risks of being young. (Red)
