(10 February 2016) The relationship between the English and Cirio tomato sauce has become a real passion. The historical Italian tomato brand, owned by the cooperative consortium Conserve Italia, this year celebrates 160 years of activity with a great fact: it is increasingly consumed and appreciated abroad, especially in the United Kingdom. Cirio tomatoes are now known and also reviewed by bloggers and chefs in the UK, seen often in TV programs in the hands of chefs Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson and Marry Perry. In particular, in an independent investigation by Kerstin Rodgers in collaboration with Chef Joe Hurd and author Dino Joannides, recently published on the website The Guardian, Cirio was the most popular product among those with nationwide distribution, surpassing even the market leader Napolina. The success and growing reputation acquired by Cirio is due, in addition to targeted commercial policies, also to marketing actions initiated five years ago specifically for the UK. (Red)
