(16 February 2016) From the Salzburg Festival to the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, passing through the Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Festival Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli in Brescia and Bergamo, Giuseppe Andaloro is today one of the most popular performers of his generation. Born in Palermo in 1982, the pianist has had for years a busy concert schedule, starring in important events. He performed in the most prestigious halls in the world: at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the San Carlo in Naples, the Massimo of Palermo, the Grobes Saal Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Sumida Triphony Hall and Pablo Casals Hall in Tokyo. And Tokyo is getting ready to host Andaloro once again, this time at the Auditorium Umberto Agnelli of the Italian Cultural Institute. The young Italian pianist will perform in a concert-event organized by the Institute for Friday, February 26 at 6.30pm. Andaloro will play some of the most beautiful pages of the late European Romanticism, among which stands out the review by the Italian Ferruccio Busoni the Chaconne in D minor by Johann Sebastan Bach. Andaloro – who often teaches master classes at institutions and conservatives in Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and the US – has recorded several pieces, and his latest album “Cruel Beauty” (released in 2013 and published by Sony) is a collection of Italian music from the late Renaissance and early Baroque, for the first time recorded on a modern piano.
