(18 February 2016) The Trentino Region is strengthening its commitment in support of countries devastated by war and severe economic difficulties with concrete actions: over €2.5million from the Region will fund 81 humanitarian projects in 2016. The resolution, approved by the Regional Council on the proposal of Vice President Arno Kompatscher, allocates contributions to associations or committees based in Alto Adige and Trentino, operating in different parts of the world. The Region’s commitment adds to the humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the two autonomous provinces, bringing the development aid funds granted by the three institutions to amounts that, in proportion to the budget, are among the highest compared to other Italian regions.
