Minsk – “We welcomed the lifting of EU sanctions against Belarus. And I am confident that Belarus and Italy, as well as Belarus and the European Union, will intensify economic and political cooperation. We are pleased that the dialogue between our countries can finally begin,” declared the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto della Vedova, to the Belarusian Press Agency “Belta.” The Undersecretary is on a mission to Minsk to co-chair, along with a delegation of business associations and companies, the first Joint Economic Commission between Italy and Belarus. “We are happy to develop cooperation with countries that do not fall in our traditional markets but that hold great potential in terms of trade – said Della Vedova – and in this sense Belarus is of great interest to Italy.” (9Colonne)
