Washington – Open to the public until 15 March, the Italian Embassy in Washington is currently hosting the exhibition “Passaggi” by Massimiliano Gatti. Promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Italy, the exhibition is a collection of Gatti’s photographs on the history of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East: it’s not a photoreportage, but a poetic point of view that transforms the artifacts in metaphor and the antiques in comments of contemporary history. The photographs are silent meditations on the violent transformation of the Middle East and are part of the project “In superficie, Rovine e Tell Gomel e Jerwan.” (9Colonne)
