Rome – The first jacket in the world made entirely of wood fibers comes from Italy, from the startup Mymantra, which specialized in natural materials. “Il legno da indossare” will have its world premiere at “Lineapelle 2016” in Milan. The new material – similar to leather both visually and to the touch – is an innovative variation of the original material “Ligneah” and it’s destined to be an all-Italian invention that will revolutionize the world of fashion. This new material originates from one layer of extremely thin wood (a few tenths of a millimeter), properly supported and treated on the surface with a recently patented method that leads it to assume the characteristics of a tech fabric or finely crafted leather.
