Doha – On Monday, Italy’s Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi embarks on a two-day mission to Qatar, during which she will attend a bilateral Joint Commission meeting. The appointment follows one that took place in Italy, and will adopt a more operative approach – with the participation of economic entities and companies from the two countries. Guidi and the Qatari Minister of the Economy Ahmed Bin Jassim Al Thani, will preside over the final part of the Commission’s works – whose aim is to identify priority areas within which to boost bilateral economic cooperation as well as possible areas of mutual investments. From Qatar’s side, the meeting will see the participation of the main responsible entities for investments, the organization of the 2022 World Cup and in general for the commission of public works. During the mission, the Italian Minister will meet with prominent members of the government and the financial world, including the Qatar Investment Authority, the organizing committee of the 2022 World Cup and the Authority of Public Works. With the Minister of Energy and Industry, Mohammed Al Saada, with whom Minister Guidi signed in Rome in late January an agreement on bilateral energy cooperation, the Italian representative will consider possible bilateral cooperation in the industrial sector, with particular reference to the experience of the Italian districts, and will exchange views on the current situation of the world market of hydrocarbons.
