(4 March 2016) The visionary world set up by Verdiana Patacchini in her works of art is the result of her continuous research for a poetic and imaginary vision. Umbrian by origin and Roman by adoption, Verdiana or “Virdi” lives between Italy and the United States, where her work is greatly appreciated. Her anthropomorphic images are now at the center of the exhibition “Unconscious Mind”, which will be inaugurated on March 17 at the Consulate General of Italy in New York. The show, curated by Roberta Buldini (Emmeotto Art), depicts how the artist transforms the perception of reality in pictorial images, through a mixed technique attentive to the quality of signs, colors and matter. These elements don’t only represent things for what they are, but they evoke the “absolute visions” that reveal what it means to be an artist. “I’m fascinated by a primitive view of the world – explains Virdi – where by looking at a mark, s sign, a color and matter we instinctively know what images are hidden. And because imagination feeds on reality, everything around me inspires my work. ” (PO / SIP)
