Addis Ababa – “Culture is the best business card a country can have; it’s by definition a heritage to preserve and cultivate with great care and application. In this, Ethiopia and Italy are similar: they can both boast an ancient and diverse civilization that incorporates rich folk traditions and recognize that, in diversity lies a precious heritage. In this view, you the students are perhaps the most effective, the most extraordinary witnesses to how alive relations between Italy and Ethiopia truly are”. This is the speech made by the Italian President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella while meeting the students of the Italian School of Addis Ababa, during the second day of his State Visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The Head of State then laid a wreath upon the Arat Kilo Victory Monument. At the Residence of the Italian Ambassador, President Mattarella later met the Embassy staff, a group of Italian businessmen and international organizations officials. (9Colonne)
