Prague – The Festival “European Film Days”, to be held in Prague April 7 to 14 in some historical town halls, and then moved to Kino Scala in Brno and in other parts of the country until the 18th of the month, celebrates this year its twenty-third edition dedicating a showcase to Italian cinema. There will be, in fact, three films on the bill to represent Italy. “Pasolini” by Abel Ferrara, which will be screened thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Institute of Culture, will be joined by “Mediterranean” by Jonas Carpignano and “Youth” by Paolo Sorrentino. The latter was placed inside a special section devoted to the culinary cinema, “Film Flavour”, whose program includes the screening in a picturesque area of the capital, the Kino Royal, and the subsequent tasting of typical dishes of the film’s country of origin, according to the new trend of “Cinema Cuisine”. During the event will also be featured a series of films on immigration in order to stimulate the sensitivity and attention of European citizens on the complex reality of the new migrations. The Festival is organized by the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic and a number of embassies and cultural institutes, with the support of the Czech Ministry of Culture and the Czech Cinematography Fund.
