Khartoum – On April 10, the Embassy of Italy in Khartoum, together with International Voluntary Welfare Group (IVWG), distributed more than 700 toys in boys’ and girls’ orphanages in the city, as well as at a women’s prison, in its “Toys for Tots” initiative. IVWG is a Sudanese volunteer association that has been working since 1965 to support the neediest. The event began with a benefit evening at Casa d’Italia, the official residence of Italian Ambassador Fabrizio Lobasso. Each of the more than 300 attendees was requested to bring a toy for needy Sudanese children. (9colonne)
