13 April 2016 Confirmation of the SPRAR system as a possible reference point for countries and urban settings that are building in these months an integrated model of reception is the underlying idea that brought the presentation of the SPRAR system to life to Slovenian municipalities in the course of a meeting that took place on the 12th of April in Ljubljana. Italian Ambassador to Slovenia, Paolo Trichilo participated in the meeting and recalled the positive value that good European practices can bring to the development of new politics of integration in Slovenia and other countries in the region. IPOP (Institute for Spatial Policies (National Urbact Point for Slovenia) organised the event at which municipal officers, third sector associations and Secretary of State to the Interior Bostjan Sefic. It remarked the effort of the Slovenian government towards an integrated and sustainable model of reception. The number of refugees present in the country is still limited to 380. The pressure put on the borders will make overcoming the provisional and emergency model of reception established in Slovenia like in other Central and Eastern European countries that have ever been confronted with the issues in the last years, all the more urgent. The central service of SPRAR aims to transfer Italian knowledge and experience. It introduced the historic progression and the data of the phenomenon in Italy, shedding light on some of the best experiences of social and work inclusion of asylum seekers and refugees, from the Nuele di Santorso (Vicenza) workshop to the sustainable agricultural production of SPRAR of Canelli (Asti) and Valderice (Trapani).
