Ljubljana – The presentation event aim to confirm the Sprar as a reference model for the countries and the cities which are now trying to create an integrated system on immigration policies. The Sprar system have been explained to the Slovenian municipalities during a meeting in Ljubljana. Ipop – Institute for Spacial Policies (the National Urbact Point in Slovenia) organized the meeting, which officials from the municipalities, the third sector organizations and the State secretary of Internal affairs, Bostjan Sefic, also took part to. The State Secretary underlined the government’s commitment to create an integrated and sustainable model of immigration policies. Currently Slovenia hosts just 380 refugees. However the pressure on the country’s borders call for the development of a proper policy, since the issue can no longer be tackled through the emergency measures used by Slovenia, as well as other central and eastern Europe countries, in the last years.
