Brasilia. Trade in furniture and jewellery between Italy’s Lombardy region and Brazil reached 17.5 million euro in 2015. This mostly consists of exports, nearly 17 million euro worth, which originate in particular in Monza and Brianza (5.5 million euro) and Como (3.4 million euro) for furniture, and Milan (2.5 million euro) for jewellery. These data are drawn from research conducted by the Milan Chamber of Commerce, during the city’s Salone del Mobile. Annual trade levels between Brazil and Lombardy are greater than 1.6 billion euro, which includes 1.2 billion in exports, and nearly 450 million in imports. Milan alone accounts for half of the imports, and of 41% of exports. In imports, Milan is followed by Bergamo (10% of the total), Brescia, Sondrio and Varese (8% each), while in exports, it is followed by Bergamo (14%), Brescia (12%) and Varese (11%). (9colonne)
