(May 5th 2016) The Budapest bridges are not only an essential architectural infrastructure, but are also a vantage point on the ‘two cities’: Buda and Óbuda on one side (which are the fusion of distant periods in the past and modernity thanks to new architectural elements) and Pest on the other (in which the flow of life is more frantic and dynamic). The exhibition “Budapest and its bridges over the Danube. Two centuries of history in images” inaugurated at the Palazzo Maldura in Piazza Gianfranco Folena in Padova in the Calfura classrooms of the Linguistics and Literature Departments of the University of Padova. The photographic exhibition was organised by the Európai Utas Foundation (European traveller) of Budapest in collaboration with the Inter-University Centre of Hungarian and European Studies (Cisueco Central and Eastern Europe) with the scholarship of the University of Padova and with the support of the municipality of Budapest, the Institute of History and Balassi Institute of Budapest, The Hungary Academy in Rome, the Hungarian Embassy to Italy and the Hungarian Ministry of Culture.
