New York. Istituto Luce-Cinecittà and the Film Society of Lincoln Centre are proud to present “La Magnani” a cinematic retrospective that will premiere in New York and in other US cities and Canada. It is a unique moment in the history of world cinema: the appearance in front of the camera of an actress names Anna Magnani. The retrospective includes 24 films mostly from the International Luce-Cinecittà Archive all screened in 35 and 16mm film format from May 18 to June 1 at Walter Reade Theatre at Lincoln Centre covering almost the whole chronological period of her film career, from her third “Tempo Massimo” by Mattoli in 1934 until her symbolic farewell in Fellini’s Rome 1972.
