Madrid – The 2016 Jimenez Prize was awarded on May 17 in Madrid to Professor Luigi Naldini, Director of Milan’s San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR – Tiget). The award, established in 1969 in memory of Professor. Carlos Jiménez Díaz Foundation and supported by Conchita Rabago de Jiménez Díaz, is given each year to doctors or researchers who have distinguished themselves worldwide for their research and for innovative breakthroughs. On the occasion of the award ceremony, Professor Naldini held a lecture titled “Turning foes into friends: exploiting HIV for the gene therapy of inherited diseases and cancer.” (9Colonne)
