(June 1, 2016) Rendezvous with history in Chile: “70-year anniversary of the Italian Republic” seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 at 17:00 at the headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago (Triana 843, Providencia). The event was organised in collaboration with the Italian Embassy organised. “The Italian Republic was born” was the headline on June 3, 1946 of the Corriere della Sera at the dawn of a historic vote for our country. The previous day, in fact, June 2 marked the will of the Italians to start a new era of true and full democracy: the women were able to decide the fate of the country and to choose between Republic and Monarchy for the first time. From that referendum the Constituent Assembly was born from which the Constitution would eventually be drawn from. On the occasion of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Italian Republic the Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago and the Embassy wanted to promote the seminar that will involve leading figures and scholars. The seminar will trace the milestones of the recent Italian Constitutional history. (Red)
