(June 6, 2016) “The viewer will have the feeling of participating in a poetic act that will force them to rummage in the folds of memory and to seek the metaphysical moment of detachment from consolidated certainties, from the lovely remains”. The curator Katy Ferrante’s words about the exhibition “The Lovely Bones” (Amabili Resti) by Iris Broquedis, which will be inaugurated on June 20 at 19.30 Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago. The exhibition – organized by the Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Italian Embassy – is the second annual “Encounters 1” project that aims to investigate, from various artistic disciplines, Italy’s and Chile’s cultural relations. “Lovely Bones” consists of textiles and fabrics “suspended clothes – according to the curator – are empty shells that testify what we were, what we start from, the weight of prejudices and fears which we have to shed. The artist uses materials like paper, gauze, seams, she is a kind of a spiritual surgeon who leaves scars as if they were knots of nostalgia “. The exhibition will remain open until July 22. (Red)
