Brussels – The European Commission published a number of measures in March to support the European steel industry and jobs in a sustainable way, introducing new industrial policies; and today is the topic of discussion in Brussels at the Committee of the Regions who will vote on a draft opinion. President of Tuscany, Enrico Rossi also participated. “Europe cannnot and must not abandon the steel sector – was Rossi’s appeal- the price we would pay would be the impoverishment of all European industry and its ability to innovate and compete in a globalised market. ” “The continental institutions – he added – must listen to the warnings that comes from the worker’s struggle: it is a battle for jobs and against the disintegration of Europe”.
