Misurata – An Italian Air Force C130J from Misurata carrying 11 injured Libyans involved in the ongoing conflict for the liberation of the city of Sirte from Daesh landed in Rome on June 26 at Ciampino military airport. The injured were admitted to the Celio Military Hospital and other hospitals in Rome. This new initiative, created in a very short time and as a result of collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and other competent administrations. It has followed other humanitarian relief efforts who have successfully retrieved wounded people in recent months. These operations, alongside the massive humanitarian commitment to Libya by the Italian Development Cooperation since the beginning of the year, have resulted in a multilateral aid worth €2.4 million channeled through the United Nations and the International Red Cross.
