Khartoum. AICS, in the context of a tight collaboration between the Emergency and Agricultural Development Programme, donated 100 tonnes of cement for the reconstruction of the village of Shidiab in the Red Sea state along with approximately 3,000 pieces of agricultural equipment to the Ministry of Agriculture. The village houses approximately 3,000 inhabitants and was largely destroyed by a violent flood last October. 40% of homes (430 houses) were destroyed. Shidiab was built in a depression and therefore is more at risk for floods. The donation to the Beja community was carried out in presence of the Italian Ambassador to Sudan, Fabrizio Lobasso on visit to the state. (9colonne)
