(26 July 2016) Dog Byron is synonymous of grunge made in Italy that has conquered Europe. The figures speak loud and clear. More than 10,000 km traveled through five countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, France and Belgium, reaching 15 cities (Rome, Turin, Brescia, Bologna, Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Monaco, Amsterdam, La Louvière, Sedan, Osnabruck, Jena and Heidelberg). These are the numbers of the tour just completed by the band Dog Byron, led by Roman musician Max Trani. Between headlining dates and openings for Turin Brakes and Everlast, the trio travelled the streets of Europe showcasing songs from Eleven Crates, their last record, but also a very personal version of the Cure’s classic, Lovesong. Dog Byron, whose music range from grunge to desert blues through an alternative rock that gives a nod to acoustic sounds, recorded a very intimate version of the song that has always been highly appreciated by the international audiences throughout the tour. A sparse arrangement sees the alternation of acoustic guitar, saturated electric distortions and crystalline arpeggios, on a linear rhythm. The video shows images of venues, audiences, stations, airports and many crossed roads, but also those who shared the stage and the studio with Max: Marco De Ritis, Vieri Baiocchi and Tommaso Calamita. During the tour the band shaped the new songs that will make up the new album, whose release is scheduled for 2017.The Cure cover will most likely be part of the tracklist. The tour will resume in October; it will stop in Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Paris. (Red)
