(July 27, 2016) Sergio Bertolucci is an internationally renowned scientists preparing for Bologna to ‘orientate and train young talent’. Bertolucci, ex director of research at CERN Geneva, will arrive at the University of Bologna to take part in a research project at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The collaboration between Bertolucci and the University was created thanks to a resolution with INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), approved by the University Council. This resolution with INFN and the collaboration with Bertolucci have been finalised with the aim to complete a research project in experimental physics and to increase research in sub-nuclear physics and astro-particle physics and in techniques for innovative detectors. Bertolucci, ex director of research and scientific computing at CERN, is now a professor for three years (renewable up to six years) and whose finances will be under the charge of INFN.
