(August 5, 2016) As of August the ICoN Consortium – a network of 18 universities that operates under an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will activate 31 online training courses for Italian teachers abroad, members of managing bodies of 12 different countries, for a total of about 600 teachers. All this thanks an extraordinary contribution made available to management agencies by the General Directorate for Italians Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of a memorandum of understanding signed with ICoN, with the aim of encouraging the ‘professional development for teachers on the main aspects of Italian teaching and provide them digital teaching skills. Each course will last eight weeks and will allow teachers to do distance learning so perfectly compatible with their periods of work and study. Each teacher will attend a virtual classroom, where he can exchange experiences and knowledge with other teachers of its territory and to develop educational materials for immediate use in your own teaching. Each class will be held by an expert teacher and a tutor. The first two courses, entitled “Instructional design: syllabi and learning units” and “Teaching Italian and contemporary Italian fiction”, will be activated from August 23 for the managing body of teachers COASIT Melbourne.
