Tokyo – On September 1, as part of the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan, the concert “Italy meets Noh!” will be held at the Auditorium of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo. The event consists in the exhibition of contemporary Italian composers who are confronted with the tradition of Noh theater. The singer and performer Ryoko Aoki is at the origin of numerous collaborations with many of today’s composers, with which it has been invited in several countries and has thus built an international reputation. Her repertoire for the evening will comprise the works of two of today’s most advanced Italian composers, Federico Gardella and Valerio Sannicandro. (9Colonne)
