(19 August 2016) The music becomes a “bridge” between Italy and Japan, also and especially on the 150 years anniversary of the relations between the two countries. The Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo organizes – on September 7 at 18.30 at its Auditorium – a concert by Federica Lotti (flute) and Keigo Takeda (piano) with the participation of the flutist Sakuramoto Ayumi. The idea is give life, not only symbolically, to the encounter between Italy and Japan in the sign of music: Italian authors of different ages and aesthetic and a great Japanese master, in a walkway that shows how they can turn the voice and the sound of the flute, an instrument loved by the cultures of both countries. Guests will hear Rossini’s panache, the witty interaction with the word in Sonia Bo, the late romantic aura of a young Busoni, the quip of the great nineteenth century virtuoso flutist Giulio Briccialdi, the provocative and poetic suggestion of a tune by Claudio Ambrosini inspired by a work by conceptual artist Alighiero Boetti, the abrupt termination of Lucan De Lorenzo, who emigrated to the USA and gave glory to the tradition of his native village, a world premiere of the emerging Mauro Montalbetti, the angelic and magic sound of Petrassi, and classical lyrical brilliance and almost as popular of Casella. That’s also how Italy and Japan meet. (Red)
