(September 12, 2016) On September 15 at 10, University La Sapienza (at the Hall of the Academic Senate of the Rector’s Palace) hosts a meeting between Ennio Vivaldi, dean of the University of Chile and Eugenio Gaudio, dean of the first University of Rome, with the aim of starting a co-operation between the two universities, in the field of anti-seismic construction and prevention of earthquake risk. At the presence of the Ambassador of Chile Fernando Ayala, two framework agreements will be signed: the first provides a scientific and cultural co-operation with the purpose of exploiting research results and transferring their values more broadly; the second will trigger an intercultural exchange policy between students of the two universities. The first concrete step in this co-operation will move on September 28, with a workshop, jointly organized with the Embassy of Chile, led by Jaime Campos and Rodolfo Saragoni, two Chilean seismologists of international stature, which will share the Chilean experience in terms of seismic events and good practices of “prevention” and “reconstruction.” (Red)
