(September 14, 2016) Alitalia arrives in Cuba. The first direct flight Rome-Havana will take off on November 29 and it will be operated twice a week, on Saturdays and Tuesdays, with the flagship of the fleet, the Boeing 777. It is the fourth long-haul route inaugurated by Alitalia in 2016, after Santiago, Mexico City and Beijing. Cuba has long been a popular destination for Italian tourists, but there’s also a growing potential for exports and with it the opportunity for anyone who wants to invest in the Cuban market. “Tourism and business in Cuba have excellent development prospects and we could not miss the opportunity to open a direct flight with Italy that could contribute to the increase in tourist and business flows to this wonderful island – said Cramer Ball, Alitalia CEO – the flight to Havana also confirms that our strategy of strengthening intercontinental flights continue as planned. ” (Red)
