Sydney. Ethereal skies, clouds, angels, landscapes seen from a distance, on an airplane that allows one to look at mundane things with a peaceful detachment. The series of images that Piero Addis displays in his exhibition “Blue Codes Blue”, curated by David Galloway, is a reexamined selection in blue, for Sydney, of his works that were originally part of a ‘Blue codes’ exhibition based on the manipulation of photographs taken by the artist during his frequent flights that he then overlaps with figures from famous Tiepolo frescoes. The exhibition will open at the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney on October 6. The titled “Blue codes” refers to the artist’s flights in recent years: for example, “LH3959” Milan to Frankfurt, “AF511” Damascus to Paris or “SU279” Moscow to Milan. (9colonne)
