Rome – the Italian agri-food exports are starting to grow back, after the setback recorded in July. This is what underlines ISMEA on the basis of the preliminary data released by Istat on foreign trade. Left behind an unfavorable July for cross-border sales of food and beverage (-2.8% on the same month last year), the month of August closes with record growth in exports: + 12.3%. The figure reflects a trend increase of all foreign sales value of agricultural products (+ 6.5% yoy), and an even more significant growth in exports of processed food products (+ 13.5%), the most significant of the past two years.
