(October 18, 2016) Enrico Rava comes for the first time in Slovakia, at Bratislava Jazz Days, with his quintet, nicknamed “Tribe”, whose members – young and excellent musicians – have already accompanied him in extraordinary concerts both in Italy and abroad: Gianluca Petrella (trombone), Giovanni Guidi (piano), Gabriele Evangelista (bass) and Fabrizio Sferra (drums). The event – promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture in Bratislava and Bratislava Jazz Days, in collaboration with M.G.M. Music Productions – is on October  21(22.30) – at Incheba. Rava is certainly among the best known and internationally appreciated Italian jazz musicians. Always engaged in the most diverse and creative experiences, he appeared on the jazz scene in the mid-sixties, rapidly imposing himself as one of the most compelling trumpet soloists of the jazz world. During his long career he has collaborated with musicians of the caliber of Franco D’Andrea, Massimo Urbani, Stefano Bollani, Joe Henderson, John Abercrombie, Pat Metheny, Archie Shepp, Miroslav Vitous, Daniel Humair, Michel Petrucciani, Charlie Mariano, Joe Lovano, Albert Mangelsdorff, Dino Saluzzi, Richard Gallliano, Martial Solal, Steve Lacy, Mark Tuner, John Scofield and has recorded more than 40 albums of which various for ECM, the legendary German label. With Paolo Fresu, another well-known Italian jazz trumpeter, he published an album inspired by Miles Davis in 2002. (Red)
