(31 Lisbon, 2016) Wimbify is one of the 41 Italian startups selected among the 15,000 of the world from 165 countries to participate in the Web Summit Alpha Program that takes place in Lisbon this year on November 7-10. Wimbify is a gay-friendly app that includes a safe LGBT community where one can accumulate enough credit for travel for “Welcome into my backyard”. The app was chosen to represent Italy in the biggest tech event. 50,000 visitors are expected in Lisbon; investors and company leaders such as Facebook, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Coca Cola and IBM. All are focused on the ‘Pitch’ competition for startups only. Wimbify was already selected at Bootstrap 2016 in Pisa on October 8, organised by StartupItalia sponsored by Registro.it. and the 2016 Internet Festival – a training day dedicated to new companies in which Wimbify was chosen for the tourism section.
