(8 November, 2016) “Life is a combination of pasta and magic” is how Fellini expressed his love for the most iconic dish of “Italianness”, a passion that was also reflected in his drawings. “Food in the drawings of Federico Fellini” is the title of the exhibition that will be inaugurated on November 10 at the Open Window Institute (John Vorster Drive, Southdowns, Irene, Centurion, South Africa). The exhibition was organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Pretoria with the collaboration of Open Window Institute and the Accademia della Cucina Italiana (Italian Cuisine Academy). It consists of 19 drawings from the renowned film director which will be accompanied by two videos: “Il lungo viaggio” (The Long Journey), a short film by Andrej Khrzhanovskij based on Fellini’s drawings; and the documentary film “Food in Fellini’s Cinema” by Giuseppe Ricci. The exhibition will be open until December 2016. (Red)
