(23 November, 2016) Saint Petersburg is ready to welcome the 6th RIFF – Russia Italian Film Festival – from November 24 to December 4. The aim of the festival organised in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Saint Petersburg, is to strengthen the cultural ties between Italy and Russia. The programme includes films both films by Italian directors as well as films about Italy by Russian directors. According to a note by the ICI, the key characteristic of RIFF is its ability to unite different Italian film categories: from films that have entered and won international festivals to socially-aware documentaries, to a selection of short films, cartoons, films by young emerging directors and retrospectives on classic Italian films”.
