Brussels. “We arrived at COP22 in Marrakech with a very clear mission: to support the European vision of a rapid implementation of the Agreement between the Governments close to COP21 Paris and to bring voice to territories to make the new global climate governance more inclusive, transparent and efficient. We succeeded in getting our voices heard”, according to the President of Sardinia, Francesco Pigliaru at the ENVE Commission of the Committee of Regions, opening the work space dedicated to reporting on the outcome of COP22. At the UN World Conference on Climate Change, which took place in November in Morocco, Pigliaru represented CoR and brought Sardinia’s best practices to the table. The objective of COP22 in Marrakech, called “the action COP,” was to give structure to the implementation of the Agreement of Paris which aims to maintain the earth’s temperature increase below 2 degrees until 2030.
