(December 12th 2016) After Val Campelle’s spruce given to Holy See, Christmas in Trentino continues in Bethlehem. On December 24th – in the Palestinian city – Councillor for Infrastructure and Environment Mauro Gilmozzi, representing President Rossi and the whole council, will hand over to Holy Land the Christmas crib realized by Tesero master craftsmen by the will of the asssociation “Friends of Christmas crib” of Val di Fiemme village of Tesero. Today, in the cloister of Church of the Nativity, some components of the Association will set up the crib, which last year was in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. At the end of Christmas 2015 it was donated by the Autonomous Province to Pope Francis, and he donating it to Bethlehem turned it into a significant symbol of welcome and peace. The Trentino’s tradition of Christmas crib has reached the landmarks of Christianity: St. Peter’s Square in Rome, Assisi and now, for the second time, Bèt-Lahm, ‘the house of bread’, in the Holy Land. Autonomous Province of Trento brought in 2011 in Constantinople, in communion with Orthodox Patriarchate, an exhibition with the most beautiful artifacts of Trentino valleys. (Red)
