Kuala Lumpur – Tuesday, December 20th the Multi-Mission European Frigate (FREMM) “Carabiniere” of the MIlitary Navy will depart from the port of La Spezia to accomplish a naval campaign in South East Asia and Australia, aimed at ensuring the presence, maritime surveillance, strengthen activities of existing cooperation with some trans-regional allies and build relationships with new potential partners. The campaign will touch various countries: Saudi Arabia, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The stop in Malaysia will see the participation of the ship at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2017, the most important defense sector exhibition in South East Asia. The ship “Carabiniere” will also be committed to carry out joint training activities with the local marine as well as conducting of dialogue and cooperation activities as well as Maritime Capacity Building, giving the campaign important significance in the field of assistance and humanitarian support.
