(December 16, 2016) Israel celebrates the great films of Marcello Mastroianni, 20 years after his death. Sixteen films of one of the most important musicians in the history of Italian cinema, will be presented – from December 20 to January 31, 2017 – at the Film archives in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Herzliya, Holon and Sderot, thanks to the Cultural association ADAMAS (Rome- TEL AVIV), in collaboration with Italians cultural institutes in Tel Aviv and Haifa. In Haifa the program of the event includes the screening of “La Dolce Vita” (1960) on December 20 at 20.30, “Dark Eyes” (1987) December 25 at 21, and “Marriage Italian Style” (1964) 26 December at 21; films will be screened in Italian with subtitles in Hebrew and English. Marcello Mastroianni was among the best-known and appreciated Italian interpreters abroad in the sixties and seventies, especially for films in which he was credited with Sophia Loren and for starring roles in the films of Federico Fellini. Able to juggle perfectly both in dramatic roles and in comedy, it is considered with Vittorio Gassman, Nino Manfredi, Alberto Sordi and Ugo Tognazzi one of the great interpreters of the Italian comedy. The event is organized in collaboration with the film archives of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Herzliya, Holon Sderot and under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Israel. (Red)
