Tunis. There will be a workshop available for 14 emerging Tunisian actors January 3-9, 2017, at l’Ecole de l’Acteur in Tunis – the acting school founded and directed by Fadhel Jaïbi in 2014 shortly after he took over the direction of the National Theatre of Tunisia. The workshop will be hosted by Jaïbi, Carmelo Rifici (Director and Professor of Interpretation at the ‘Luca Ronconi’ Theatre School of Milan’s Piccolo Theatre), and by Alessio Romano (Expressive Movement instructor). The group’s work will be based on Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull. The aim of this workshop is to consolidate the actors’ relationship with their bodies and their surroundings through an analysis of the text’s language and themes. The last lecture (January 9 at 16:00) will be open to students and guests of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis. This workshop was organised in collaboration with the Piccolo Teatro of Milan, Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis and the Théâtre National Tunisien. (9Colonne)
