(4 January 2017) Five albums released and more than 800 concerts worldwide: the Piazza Vittorio Orchestra, a well-established reality in the music landscape, will perform in Albania for the first time on 23 March at the Cultural Centre of the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana. The multicultural ensemble promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of Albania consists of 18 musicians originating from 10 different countries. Together they transform their cultural and linguistic differences into a singular language: music. What characterises their unique sound is the mixing of different traditions and genres, such as rock, pop, reggae, and classical music. Musicians come and go, changing the sound of the orchestra but without betraying its initial vocation of taking on new challenges and horizons. The Piazza Vittorio Orchestra represents a fusion of cultures, traditions, memories, new and ancient sounds, unknown instruments, universal melodies, and voices from all around the globe. (Red)
