(February 2, 2017) The Italian Institute of Culture in Lisbon celebrates the World Interfaith Harmony Week, established by the United Nations in 2010 and celebrated around the world the first week of February each year. Tuesday, February 7 at 9PM at the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, it will take place the concert “Francis, the Song of Nature” from UmbriaEnsemble, organized by the IIC in collaboration with the municipality of Lisbon. Universally recognized and beloved symbol of a universal religion which, while not forgetting their sectarian identity is deeply rooted in harmony with Creation, St. Francis of Assisi is the inspiration around which the show that UmbriaEnsemble (Stefano Parrino , flute; Luca Ranieri, purple; M. Cecilia Berioli, cello; Leonardo Cherri, piano) will stage in Lisbon. UmbriaEnsemble – that with the Saint of Assisi share their homeland – has invited some of the most interesting names on the contemporary music scene to write new music about Francis. Marcello Panni, Carlo Pedini, Fabrizio De Rossi Re: these composers who immediately joined the project devoted to St. Francis original works ( “Prayer to St. Francis”, Panni; “The Song of the Creatures”, Pedini; “A song between Heaven and Earth”, De Rossi Re). A project that after the success of the concerts performed in Switzerland and Italy during the Jubilee of Mercy, continues – also in its Portuguese debut – offering suggestions and food for thought.
