(13 February 2017) “Dear Strehler, I would like to offer my complete works, one after the other, to Europe. Thanks, Bertolt Brecht”. On February 10, 1956 Brecht assisted in the staging of “Opera da tre soldi” on behalf of Giorgio Strehler in Milan. Brecht dies a few months later and Paolo Grassi embarks on a mission to bring Brecht’s works to Italy. Benedetto Alberto in “Brecht and the Piccolo Theatre. A question of rights” (Mimesis, 2016) talks about political culture, author rights, cultural relations between Italy and Germany.
