London. A declaration was signed by 10 metropolitan European Chambers of Commerce among which were Turin, Berlin, Paris, and Madrid upon invitation of the London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan and in the presence of the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Lord Bridges. The aim is to work together in the post-Brexit era towards the development and growth of European small and medium businesses. The Alliance of European Metropolitan Chambers (AEMC)- an international law organisation based in Brussels- has the objective to exchange best practice and create development projects in metropolitan areas. The AEMC called on the 10 Chambers of Commerce to meet a week after the activation of Article 50 to discuss Brexit to establish priorities for intervention over the next few months. The Chamber of Commerce of Turin, partner of AEMC since 2011, is the only Italian chamber present. “We require a period of transition to allow businesses and governments to realign themselves and to lay down the basis for future agreements” stated Vincenzo Ilotte, President of the Turin Chamber of Commerce.
